Matthew 24

Spring is a'coming, Summer is near.

He said, like the season, He then will appear.

We must be ready and watch and pray.

Then we're prepared for that glorious Day.

He said that to love Him

We must know his Word.      John 8:31 - 47 John 8:31 - 47 (NIV)

31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.

32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

33 They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"

34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

37 I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word.

38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father."

39 "Abraham is our father," they answered. "If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did.

40 As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things.

41 You are doing the things your own father does." "We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself."

42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me.

43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say.

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?

47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."

That's why they killed Him,

They rejected what they heard.

We do not know them,

But we know our Lord.

Jesus lives forever,

He reigns with one accord.

Penny's Poetry

People will be evil

As in Noah's day;

But he built the ark       (Genesis 7)

And safely sailed away.

Penny's Poetry

It was the same, when Lot was around.

God led him to safety -

And then fire came down.      Luke 17:26 Luke 17:26 (NIV)

26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man

Penny's Poetry

Out of the heavens He'll come upon the clouds

Angels sounding trumpets

And lightning all around.

Penny's Poetry

The heavens will be shaken

From East to West they'll come -

The people following Jesus

Who've been collected, everyone.

Penny's Poetry

Jesus will lead his army

On that mighty Day.

He will overthrow powers and rulers      (Revelation 19)

That lead the world astray.

Penny's Poetry

Jesus will reign then

As king and Christ on earth.

His throne in Jerusalem

For the thousand years.      (Revelation 20)

Penny's Poetry

Homage will be paid Him

and there's no more sin.

For the devil and his deceiving

have been cast into the pit.

Penny's Poetry

It is only after, this wonderful event,

That the White Throne of judgement

Will decide on all our fate.

Penny's Poetry

Those who belong to Jesus

And are his very sheep,

Will reign with him forever

And never more to weep.    Matthew 25:32-46 Matthew 25:32-46 (NIV)

32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 Then the King will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

37 Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?"

40 The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

41 Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."

44 They also will answer, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?"

45 He will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."

46 Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.
