As we use our minds to understand scripture, we sometimes (seemingly serendipitously) come across real life illustrations to give us a quantum leap.
At other times just doing some of our own untutored homework can help enormously.
I hope these little studies will catalyse our readers to harvest new truths from the bible.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
I'm not claiming any originality in this section, especially since the bible is the most studied book in the world. However, the thoughts expressed here are original to me in that, as far as I can remember, I had not come across them before.
So, I would encourage visitors to this website to approach scripture with the expectation of learning something new each time the bible is opened and read.
New and improved thinking tools, lenses of perception, an eye on new discoveries in archaeology, geology, cosmology and so on, plus almost anything else that's new, can only aid our appreciation of the bible.
For my part, I would like to see bible study taken outside our traditional stained glass halls. I would also like to see many more people taking another look.
As I have said, I am a great believer in the democratisation and popularisation of bible study.
